Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist, and competing within the UFC flyweight division. She is the sister of the fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fighting sports journey as a Muay Thai boxer. She debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via one-sided decision. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second silver medal in 2007, with a bronze award in 2008. She also won the gold in 2011, she was named the 2015 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion. Antonia started her professional career in at the age of 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships 2012 and The Lion Fight Lightweight Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final bout took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. It was an unanimous decision to win. Antonina Shevchenko broke her debut professional MMA record at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She was victorious via TKO after the first round. She went on to win her 2 next fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. The result was an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko stopped for a few minutes from MMA in order to focus on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision and later defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she resigned from the league and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina used her superior punching techniques in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended following this victory. Antonina did her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, to be fought by Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision following her first bout. Antonina was able to bounce back from her defeat and defeated Lucie Pudilova in the rear with a choking submission in the 2nd round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski but fell to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina recently lost by TKO in the second round against Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
